General Information:

Himalayan Deodar cedarwood is an evergreen tree native to the Himalayas. The tree reaches 150 feet tall with a trunk with 10 feet in diameter. It has conic crown with level branches and dropping branches. The leaves are needle like, mostly 2-5 cm long, slender, borne singly on long shoots and in dense cluster of the 20-30 on short shoots. it has dark-blue-green needlelike leaves, yellow male cones, and green female seed cones. They vary from bright green to blue green in color. The female cones are barrel shaped 7-15 cm long and 5-10 cm broad and disintegrate when mature to release the winged seeds. The male cones are 4-5 cm long & shade their pollen in autumn. According to ancient Hindu scriptures, devadaru tree is considered a divine tree owing to its fragrance, lofty nature, and height. Deodar is grown in areas with temperatures below 10 degrees. They are mostly found in the western Himalayas, north-central India, northern Pakistan, eastern Afghanistan, western Nepal, and Tibet. The Himalayan deodar tree is grown at the height of 1200-3000 m (about 1.86 mi).2 It is also grown in China, Argentina, Germany, and France. Deodar trees are tall with long shoots and long needle-like leaves. There are different types of deodar cedar trees with numerous medicinal uses. How to use:

Powdered Herb:

There are different ways to use powdered herb.

Food Preparation: You can add powdered herb to any super food herbal smoothie, sauces, spreads and even cookies. Also for children, you can mix powdered herb with honey or glycerin to make paste. The thicker the paste, the more potent and herbal in taste. The sweet taste of honey and glycerin will help medicine go down. This method is also known as "Electuaries".

Capsules: Encapsulating your own powdered herb at home, gives you assurance that the contents of the capsules are pure herb and no filler or any other products. These capsules can be taken with liquid.

Poultice: Poultice can be made with an herbal powder and liquid (mostly water) to form a paste which is then applied to the skin. This method is very helpful for skin conditions.

Herbal shot: Powdered herb can be mixed with water, fruit juice or other liquid to make herbal shot.
