General Information:

Sweet Potato Pieces are prepared from sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas), a popular root vegetable belonging to the Convolvulaceae family. The sweet potatoes are carefully selected, cleaned, cut into pieces, and dehydrated to create a convenient, shelf-stable ingredient while retaining their natural colour, flavour, and distinctive characteristics.

These dried sweet potato pieces have a naturally mild, slightly sweet taste and a firm texture that softens when soaked or cooked. Their convenient cut form makes them suitable for a wide variety of culinary preparations without the need for peeling or chopping fresh sweet potatoes.

Sweet Potato Pieces can be used in soups, stews, vegetable blends, casseroles, and other recipes. They can also be rehydrated in water before cooking or added directly to dishes containing sufficient liquid.

Common Uses

Soups & Stews: Add directly to soups, broths, and stews for a naturally sweet, earthy flavour.
Cooking: Rehydrate and incorporate into curries, casseroles, and vegetable dishes.
Food Blends: Use in dried vegetable mixes, soup mixes, and specialty culinary preparations.
Rehydration: Soak in warm water until softened before adding to recipes.
Custom Recipes: Incorporate into homemade food preparations requiring dried root vegetable pieces.

Preparation Instructions

Rinse the dried pieces if desired. Soak in warm water until softened, or add directly to soups and stews with sufficient liquid. Cook thoroughly before consumption. Rehydration and cooking times may vary depending on the size and thickness of the pieces.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep the package tightly sealed after each use to maintain freshness and product quality.
