Hardwood base activated carbon is a very fine powder made of the hardwood. The process of making its activated form, the hardwood undergoes a steam activation process. During the process, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Activated carbon is extremely porous with a very large surface area, which makes it an effective adsorbent material which makes it easy to remove a large number of impurities in a relatively small enclosed space.

Now a day, the use of Activated carbon has become very popular in the beauty industry because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It also helps to unclog pores, balances oily skin, whitens teeth, soothes bug bites and irritation.
