Coconut shell activated carbon is a very fine powder made of the coconut shell. In the process of making its activated form, the coconut undergoes a steam activation process. During the process, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Activated carbon is extremely porous with a very large surface area, which makes it an effective adsorbent material which makes it easy to remove large amounts of impurities in a relatively small enclosed space.

Now a day, the use of Activated carbon has become very popular in the beauty industry because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It also helps to unclog pores, balance oily skin, whitens teeth, soothes bug bites and irritation.
